Why the name Flow State? The term “flow state” describes a mental state in which a person is completely focused on a single task or activity.

Back in 2015 Erich Gutzler started his first Janitorial/Property Maintenance/ Residential/ Commercial Cleaning Business in Charleston, SC in his home state. He had a problem getting employment but still felt confident that he could be valuable to a team. So, he decided to test his own confidence and start his own business. Choosing to start a cleaning service was easy because of his Catholic School background and his Filipino mother’s background. The School he attended from Kindergarten to Sixth grade is a Blue Ribbon school, St. john Neumann in Columbia, South Carolina.

As a young boy he was often “mischievous” and that kind of behavior did not sit well with Dr. Adams, the School Principal who was also a Nun had a much different approach  to discipline and Dr. Adams was determined to make something out of her kids.

Dr. Adams would not let you just sit down and stare at a wall as your punishment, she would give you a Vacuum, a sponge and soap for baseboards and a tooth brush to scrub the grout lines in between tiles in the bathrooms and to add humor, Erich was consistently “Mischievous” so he learned the detailing in cleanliness at a young age and carried the trait all the way up until this very day.
